Who we are

MJJ Creative Studio is a web design studio based in Surrey, British Columbia, Canada. This policy explains what personal information we collect through mjjcreative.com, why, and what you can ask us to do with it.

Questions about it go to hello@mjjcreative.com. Miguel, who runs the studio, is responsible for how we handle personal information.

What we collect

When you send the Get started form, we receive:

• Your name and email address
• What you need, your budget and when you would like to start
• Your current website and any note, if you add them
• Whether you asked to join our email list, with the wording you agreed to and the time
• The page you sent the form from

When you send the Contact form, we receive your name, email address and message, and the page you sent it from.

When you sign up for the free course, we receive your name and email address, the wording you agreed to and the time, and the page you signed up on.

If you email us, we receive whatever you choose to include.

When you visit the site, Cloudflare, which delivers and protects it, processes technical information such as your IP address, browser and device. Cloudflare Web Analytics counts visits in aggregate without cookies and without identifying you.

We also use Google Analytics, through Google Tag Manager, to understand how people use the site: which pages are viewed, how far people scroll, and which buttons, links and forms are used. Google receives your IP address, browser and device details, and a random identifier stored in a cookie. We do not send Google your name, email address or anything you type into a form.

Why we use it

We use what you send to reply to you, set up a call, prepare a quote and, if we work together, deliver your project. We do not sell your information.

If you tick the box to join our email list, we send occasional newsletters and helpful content by email. We never add you to the list without that consent. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and you can also withdraw consent by emailing hello@mjjcreative.com. We act on it within 10 business days.

When you sign up for the free course, we use your name and email to give you the course and to send occasional website tips. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and you can also ask us to stop by emailing hello@mjjcreative.com.

Technical information is used to keep the site running, fast and secure, and to understand how many people visit.

Who handles it for us

A few services handle information on our behalf, only for the purposes above:

• Web3Forms, which delivers form submissions to our email
• Google, which hosts our email
• Cloudflare, which delivers the site, protects it and its forms from automated spam, and provides visit counts
• Google, which provides Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager for visit statistics
• xCloud, which hosts the site
• Brevo, which keeps our email list and sends our emails, for people who sign up for the free course or join the list

Some of these services store or process information outside Canada, mainly in the United States, where it may be subject to the laws of that country.

Cookies

The site itself does not set cookies. Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser (named _ga and _ga_ followed by an identifier) so it can tell returning visitors apart and count visits. We use them for statistics only, not for advertising. Cloudflare may also set a strictly necessary cookie to tell visitors apart from automated traffic.

To stop Google Analytics, you can block cookies in your browser settings or install Google's opt-out add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. The site works the same either way.

If you sign up for the free course, the site saves a small note in your browser so the lessons stay unlocked on that device. It holds no personal information, and clearing your browser data removes it. If any of this changes, we will update this policy and ask for your consent where the law requires it.

How long we keep it

We keep an enquiry for as long as we need it to reply and follow up. If we work together, we keep project records for as long as our business and legal obligations require. You can ask us to delete your enquiry at any time.

Your choices

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, withdraw your consent or ask us to delete it. Email hello@mjjcreative.com and we will respond within 30 days.

If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia.

Keeping it safe

The site is served over an encrypted connection, and we take reasonable steps to protect the information you send us. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we limit who can see your information to the people and services that need it.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will post the new version here with a new date.
